Welcome to Camping With Boys! We are Brian and Michelle, and we are so glad that you are here. I, Michelle, grew up tent camping on the California coastline and knew that I would want to pass along those experiences to my future children. Brian did have experience camping through some bicycle camps, I definitely had more time spent camping with my family. Brian and I have been married for 19 years, and transplanted from the West Coast to the East Coast in 2003. We are employed full-time as educators in the K-12 public school system -- so we have our summers and weekends to go camping! We are definitely the weekend warriors when it comes to camping right now!

We finally decided to upgrade our camping experience to an RV during the pandemic. We both had experience camping in tents, and my family had a pop-up for many years, so we are not newbies to the camping scene. We tried to tent camp on the East Coast when the boys were little, and the lack of air-conditioning meant a lot of sleepless nights for everyone (but mostly me!). The boys are now 15 and 12 years old, and our summers with them were slowly creeping away. We talked about getting a pop-up or an RV, and finally said yes in June 2020. We definitely are enjoying the glamping experience since we enjoy the luxury of air-conditioning, running water, and electricity at most campgrounds.

We have started with a travel trailer, lovingly called The Beast, at a whopping 37ft in length. We went with a bunkhouse floor plan that actually has a door! However, we are already planning our future upgrade to a fifth wheel down the road. We definitely have the travel bug, and know that we want to upgrade to an all-season RV.

We bought The Beast in Kentucky in July 2020, and our shakedown trip started the moment we pulled out of the lot! It was the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic, and camping seemed to be the best travel option. Since we live on the East Coast we knew that our camping season wouldn't officially end until winter, so we took the plunge knowing that while summer was coming to a close, we still had many months of good camping weather!
