Spring 2021

Conway, SC

De-winterizing the RV was the absolute best part of Winter coming to an end. We were beyond ready to get back on the road, and Spring Break couldn't come fast enough. We were super excited to be returning to Carolina Pines for a week long stay. My sister rented a cottage for two nights, and family friends were coming down for a day trip. The boys also got a bonus visit with their youth minister as well. It was a great week. The only downside -- a cold front moved during the last half of the stay, and the waterpark was not open for the season during our Spring Break. The boys were still able to enjoy mini-golf, bike riding around the resort, and just relaxing by the pool by day, or fire by night. We had a great time

For Mother's Day, I asked the boys to go camping! I was suppose to attend my long awaited graduation ceremony at HPU for the 2020 graduates (even though I was done in Dec. 2019 -- long story!), and then leave to go camping that afternoon. I decided that morning to skip graduation and arrive at the campground right at check-in! I'm so glad we did! We stayed at Dan River Campground and River Adventures. It was absolutely peaceful, and a beautifully maintained campground! On Saturday we took a drive up to the Mayo River State Park, and hiked to Fall Creek Falls, and continued the trail to the river to the Virginia State Line. It was fun to say that we were in two places at once! It was an easy hike, and one we definitely will do again when we return to this campground. It's only 40 minutes away from home, and perfect for a weekend getaway.
