Fall 2020
Myrtle Beach, SC
Brian is a member of beach band, and he had a gig scheduled for end of September. We were still dealing with issues related to the pandemic and gigs continuing to go on as planned. We decided that regardless of the gig, we would still take these couple of days to enjoy some beach time with the boys. We found a brand-new boutique style resort, Barefoot RV Resort in North Myrtle Beach. We booked our Summer 2021 vacation for this resort, sitting in the RV at this resort. We absolutely LOVED this place! This is the one resort that we splurge on a golf cart rental simply because we can get to the beach and park with ease, and also get to a grocery store nearby. We can park our Tow vehicle for the entire stay, if we want to!
Conway, SC
Brian and I were both back on campus in October of 2020. We didn't camp during the month, but spent a LOT of time researching and visiting various campgrounds. A friend on FB had posted about Carolina Pines RV Resort in Conway, SC and it definitely caught my attention. In November, Brian and I were both working remotely for the same 2-week period due to schools being closed due to cases of Covid-19. Since we were not reporting to campus, and teaching virtually -- we decided to take an unplanned, spur of the moment trip to slightly warmer weather. I told him about Carolina Pines -- and couldn't start packing fast enough! We extended our stay by 2 nights because we were having such a great time -- and booked our Spring Break Getaway for this resort during our stay!
Sevierville, TN
We promised ourselves that if we bought an RV, we would use the RV as often as possible. So we booked trips for all our extended weekends during the school year, and Thanksgiving was spent outside Pigeon Forge, TN in Sevierville, TN. We like staying in the Sevierville area vs the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area, and simply driving in to see the sites -- well Moonshine Tasting. Who are we kidding? If you know me -- I go to this area for one thing -- Moonshine (yes, it's flavored -- but I love it!). We found a nice little resort right off the main road into Pigeon Forge, TN -- Two Rivers Landing RV Resort. Yes, it was cold -- but our heater held up nicely and we stayed warm during the evening hours.
Lake Lanier, GA
Since we were enjoying the time spent away "glamping" from our everyday lives -- we decided to head south for the winter for one last trip. While it wasn't exactly winter -- the beginning of December can definitely feel like winter on the East Coast. We headed towards Atlanta, GA to Margaritaville RV Resort at Lanier Islands. Its not quite in Atlanta, about 45 minutes North. We have family friends who lived minutes away from the resort -- we got lots a family time with them! While it was so cold at night, we enjoyed it so much. It was tough returning home and having to winterize the RV for the Winter Season. It was this trip that really solidified that our next RV will be all season so we can enjoy our favorite activity all year round.
